Current Status: Although we originally thought that the reinstall of Exchange over itself did not correct the problems with various services stopping unexpectedly, we later found that things are working normally after all. While OWA still does not work, and a server rebuild MAY be necessary to resolve this, we have one more thing to try first, in late August.
Overview of the Issue
NTPCUG has been having "trouble" with our Microsoft Exchange server for quite a while. Outlook Web Access (OWA) was the first to go, but lately, other Exchange-related services have begun stopping on their own. Although they have been set to automatically restart, there are major distractions that result when these functions stop working, and short periods where mail cannot be processed.
